Teen pace sensation Ali Raza returns as Pakistan name U19 squad for World Cup build-up

Pakistan have confirmed their Under-19 squad for the upcoming season, with right-arm pacer Ali Raza retaining his place after impressing at the 2024 edition of the tournament.

Raza emerged as one of Pakistan’s standout performers last year despite being just 15 at the time. His memorable spell of 4 for 34 against Australia in the semi-final nearly propelled Pakistan to a famous victory, underlining his ability to thrive under pressure. Across the tournament, the young fast bowler claimed nine wickets in just three matches, quickly establishing himself as a major prospect for the future.

The squad will be led by Farhan Yousaf, with Usman Khan appointed as vice-captain, as Pakistan continue their preparations for the ICC Under-19 Men’s 50-over World Cup. A crucial part of that build-up will be the tri-nation series featuring Afghanistan, Pakistan and hosts Zimbabwe, scheduled to run from 25 December to 6 January.

The series is expected to provide valuable match exposure and competitive intensity ahead of the global event, allowing Pakistan’s young talents to fine-tune their skills against quality opposition.
